Terms & Conditions for Submissions
Last updated: 24.07.2026
By submitting a story, reason, or photo to Rolling Forward ("we," "us," "the site"), you agree to the following terms.
1. Who can submit
You must be 18 or older to submit content to this site. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to submit on your behalf, or do not submit.
2. What you're agreeing to
By submitting content, you confirm that:
-
The story, words, and any photo you submit are your own, or you have the right to share them
-
Everything you've shared is true to your own experience, to the best of your knowledge
-
You've read and agree to follow our Community Guidelines (below)
3. License to publish
By submitting, you grant Rolling Forward a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, display, and reproduce your submitted content (text and/or photo) on this website and its associated social media channels, for as long as the submission remains part of the site. You retain ownership of your own words and images — you're giving us permission to use them, not signing them over.
4. Anonymity and personal details
You may submit anonymously or under a first name only. Please do not include full names, exact addresses, employer names, or other identifying details about yourself or anyone else unless you are comfortable with that information being made public permanently on the internet.
5. Photos
If you choose to include a photo, you confirm that you own the rights to it or have permission from anyone identifiable in it to share it publicly. Please don't submit photos of other people (including children) without their knowledge and consent.
6. Moderation and removal
Submissions are not reviewed before publishing and go live automatically once submitted. We do, however, monitor the site and reserve the right to remove any submission — at any time and without notice — if it does not meet our Community Guidelines. If you spot content that shouldn't be here, please use the "Report this story" link or contact us at keeprollinforward@gmail.com.
Community Guidelines
Rolling Forward is a space for real stories about chronic illness and disability — shared honestly, read with care. To keep it that way, here's what we ask:
Please do:
-
Share your own experience, in your own words
-
Be honest — even the hard, unglamorous, or unresolved parts
-
Respect that everyone's condition, pace, and journey looks different
-
Use content warnings if your story touches on something heavy
Please don't post content that:
-
Is abusive, threatening, or harassing toward any person or group
-
Is sexually explicit
-
Promotes hatred or discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or any other characteristic
-
Shares someone else's personal information without their consent (including photos of other people, especially children, without permission)
-
Promotes or gives specific instructions for self-harm, suicide, or disordered eating
-
Is spam, advertising, or unrelated to chronic illness/disability experiences
-
Is knowingly false or misleading
A note on hard topics:
This is a space where grief, fear, anger, and difficult days are welcome — that's real life with a chronic condition. The line isn't about how heavy a story is; it's about whether it's safe and respectful for others to read.
Enforcement:
Anything reported or spotted that breaks these guidelines will be removed, usually without notice, and repeat issues may result in a submitter being blocked from posting again.
7. Requesting removal
If you'd like your own story or photo removed after it's been published, contact us at [email address] and we'll remove it as soon as reasonably possible.
8. No compensation
Submissions are unpaid and voluntary. We do not offer payment or compensation for content shared with the site.
9. This isn't medical or crisis advice
Rolling Forward is a community storytelling space, not a medical, legal, or mental health service. Nothing submitted or published here should be taken as professional advice. If you are in crisis, please see our crisis resources rather than relying on this site alone.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the submission form after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
